Every Wednesday, ‘Roll-A-Cover Uncovered’ spotlights a favorite Roll-A-Cover project.
London, UK – This week’s “Roll-A-Cover Uncovered” is coming to you from across the pond! In honor of Roll-A-Cover being in London this week, we decided to feature The Curtain Hotel. The Curtain, which is in the heart of
London’s trendy Shoreditch district, is a luxurious hotel, a cosmopolitan restaurant, a member’s club and a rooftop pool and lounge equipped with a retractable enclosure.
Roll-A-Cover was honored to have worked with hotelier Michael Achenbaum, owner of the hip Gansevoort Hotel in NYC, for the second time. (Fun fact: Roll-A-Cover’s first NYC rooftop enclosure was at the Gansevoort Hotel!) Achenbaum stated, “Roll-A-Cover has helped us create unique multi functional spaces that have helped define the hotel and membership club rooftop food and beverage experience in both NYC and London.” That is what Roll-A-Cover strives for! This retractable enclosure at the stunning Curtain Hotel is a rooftop lean-to with a custom pitch. The enclosure encloses the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, LIDO, which is next to the pool. Achenbaum also added, “The quality of the product and the cooperative nature of the team at Roll-A-Cover has helped us maximize our revenue streams while minimizing the headaches and costs of other vendors.”
Since this restaurant is protected from inclement weather with its Roll-A-Cover enclosure, it never loses revenue on bad weather days. Laura Motta from ShermansTravel Media had very positive things to say about this location after her visit. “If you’re not in the mood to swim, have brunch or a drink in the adjoining restaurant, LIDO. With a retractable glass roof, this section feels bright and airy and offers a dose of the outdoors even when the sun is hidden behind clouds.” We agree, Laura! If you ever make it to London, The Curtain is a must see location!
